A Complete Mechanical Overhaul Consists of:
A comprehensive mechanical servicing involves disassembling the entire timepiece, including the case, bezel, crystal, and movement, followed by an ultrasonic cleaning of the movement parts in various solutions. Once cleaned, the movement is reassembled with essential new components, such as the mainspring, automatic wheel, reverser wheel, gaskets, and any other part deemed worn to ensure optimal performance. Lubrication is applied according to factory standards. The case is cleaned and polished as needed, with crystal replacement when necessary during final assembly. The final stage includes a rigorous 7 to 10-day quality control check to verify power reserve, accuracy, and overall functionality before the watch is returned in peak condition.
A Complete Quartz Overhaul Consists of:
A comprehensive quartz servicing involves a meticulous process that starts with complete disassembly, allowing for the inspection and replacement of any worn or faulty quartz movement parts, as well as the installation of a new battery and gaskets to maintain water resistance. After cleaning and optionally polishing the case and bezel, any necessary crystal replacement is conducted during the final assembly. The watch then undergoes a rigorous 7 to 10 day quality control process to ensure the power reserve, accuracy, functionality, and overall appearance meet high standards before being returned in perfect working condition.

Battery Replacement (Quartz Watches)
The life of your battery depends on several variables. Although your average quartz battery should last for 1 to 3 years, the more functions a watch has will reduce the batteries life span. If batteries are left in a watch long after they no longer have power, they can leak which can cause severe damage to the movement.
Watch Polishing
Periodically, the case and bracelet of your watch may obtain scratches and may lose its shine. Let the professionals at Shami help you restore the original appearance of your timepiece!

Warranty
We offer a 2-year warranty on the work carried out on the movement of your timepiece. Any defective parts found within the movement will be replaced by our in-house Swiss-Certified Watchmakers at no cost. Shami’s warranty does not cover; cosmetic issues such as normal wear and tear (scratches or discoloration, scratched crystals, discolored straps, etc.). Damage to any part of the watch, including the movement, caused by neglect, accidental drops, or misuse. The warranty is rendered void if any work is done by any person other than the authorized personnel of Shami Fine Watchmaking
Water Resistance

What does it mean when a watch is water resistant?
Water resistance refers to the watches ability to withstand water pressure. The fact is there is no watch that can be waterproof.
“Water resistant” has replaced the terminology of “waterproof” by watch manufacturers. The term “waterproof” was prohibited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for being misleading. Eventually, the ISO created requirements and testing methods of water-resistant watches to clarify to consumers what it meant when purchasing a timepiece that would come in contact with water.
Watches can be is tested, and at Shami, we have the most sophisticated equipment and technology to determine if your watch is taking in water and moisture. Wear and tear will lead to gaskets breaking down and our technicians we will know when the gaskets should be replaced and lubricated.
We recommend that you have your watch tested yearly. However, if you are an avid water-skier, or into kite surfing or a triathlete, you might consider having it tested more often. If you are in and around the beach and swim in salt water, it’s essential to have your watch checked because one’s lifestyle will have a direct correlation to the water resistances longevity.
